State-of-the-art site will help educate public on plasma donation

Deerfield, Ill., Aug. 6, 2002 – BioLife Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Baxter Healthcare Corporation, today unveiled its new public Web site, www.biolifeplasma.com, designed to educate users about plasma and plasma donation. Through the use of flash animations and videos, this state-of-the-art site explores the components of plasma, tours viewers through a plasma collection center and follows a donor through the plasmapheresis process.

The site also provides information about BioLife and its more than 100 plasma collection centers throughout the United States.

BioLife Plasma Services in an industry leader in the collection of plasma, the liquid portion of the blood that can be easily replaced by the body. It is from this plasma that life-saving biological products are produced by Baxter and used in therapies to treat hemophiliacs, burn victims and transplant patients, among others.
